2009 was a typical growing season although slightly cooler. Harvest dates of Merlot and Syrah were in mid-September, Cabernet Sauvignon in mid-October. The name Terra Blanca, Latin for white earth, is named for the high calcium carbonate content that whitens soils of our Red Mountain vineyard and helps produce the incredible depth and structure in the grapes. The first grapes were harvested from our estate vineyard in 1997
